Mark Koester, President & CEO
Mark has been active in the water and wastewater industry in upstate New York for over 20 years. Mark retains leadership positions in the New York Water Environment Association and New York Rural Water Association. He remains active in the American Water Works Association and local Water Works affiliates.
Away from his intense customer supporting schedule, you may find Mark sky diving, bungee jumping, running a marathon, or topping an overgrown tree. His unyielding energy and enthusiasm for this business has earned him many life-long friendships.

Peter J. Radosta, P.E., Vice President
Since graduating from Clarkston University, Pete has been active in the water and wastewater industry. While employed as a consulting engineer, he obtained an MBA from Syracuse University. Pete is a licensed engineer and enjoys keeping up-to-date with the latest technology.
Pete serves on the NYWEA Central Chapter Board of Directors. He's also active in the AWWA and NY Rural Water Association. Outside of work, Pete thoroughly enjoys the outdoors. In the winter, you'll find him snowshoeing and skiing. No matter what the weather, Pete and his wife enjoy kayaking and running.

Don Chalanick, Senior Sales Engineer
Don worked for many years at AE Hatch Associates, a manufacturer's rep company, based in East Syracuse. In 2003, Koester Associates acquired AE Hatch. Key to this decision was Don's transition to Koester Associates. Don has years of experience applying the proper technology to solve drinking water related problems.
Don enjoys spending time with his family. He is also known to carouse the golf course from time to time.

John D. O'Connell, III, Service and Retrofit Manager
John joined Koester Associates after working for many years as a public works official. This background has served our customers well, as John truly understands the challenges facing municipalities. John holds a NYS Grade 3A wastewater treatment license. John works hard every day, helping customers through complex service issues.
John leads busy life outside of the office, working on his farm. Once in a while, free time will allow John to escape with his family on Lake Ontario.

Leslie Carlson, Service Coordinator
Grab your cup of coffee and try to keep up with this ambitious woman! As our Service Coordinator, Leslie single-handedly schedules our team of service technicians to various job sites all over New York State and coordinates equipment delivery. She has an Associates degree and 20 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry involving purchasing, operations, and project coordination.
Leslie and her two children live in East Syracuse and enjoy participating in outdoor activities including camping, bicycling, and canoeing but mostly she enjoys spending time with her harness racing horse “Johnny Kash”. If you need something organized, operating efficiently, or followed up on, I’d put my money on Leslie.

Sue Clark, Parts & Service Assistant
After working at Carrier Corporation for 24 years, Sue brings with her a wealth of customer service, finance, and billing experience. She works in the Parts & Service department handling billing, filing, and assisting with service technician reports. Sue and her husband Dennis’s zest for life are apparent with their love of scuba diving; they were married under water over 20 years ago. Their life wouldn’t be complete without their German Shepard “Anka” who they recently adopted from the German Shepard Rescue in Syracuse. Sue gives new meaning to the term “team player” and is as sweet as the candy she brings in and shares with us all.

Brian Link, Senior Service Technician
Brian Link is our most seasoned service technician. He is a NYS Grade 4A wastewater operator as well as an authorized service technician for USF/Wallace & Tiernan, Smith & Loveless, ABS Pumps, Danfoss, Lamson, Sanitaire, Sanitaire/ABJ, Schloss Engineered Equipment, and Vogelsang USA. Brian has working knowledge of the principles of physics, chemistry and biology as applied to wastewater treatment and disposal. He has 20 years of experience in the operation and repair of pumps, valves, controls, instrumentation, and process equipment. Brian's knowledge and skills make him an essential part of this specialized industry.
At home, Brian lives a faith-based life with his wife and two daughters.

John is a NYS Grade 3A Operator with over 20 years experience including instrumentation, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, programmable controllers, level controls, chlorination equipment, chemical feed systems, activated sludge processes and fixed film biological treatment. John is highly skilled and delivers unsurpassed work quality.

Ray Gress, Jr., Service Technician
Ray provides service to customers in western New York. Ray has worked in several roles in municipal maintenance for 20 years. He has extensive experience in pump station troubleshooting and repair. Ray is a NYS Grade 3A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
When not working, Ray finds time to enjoy other pleasures in life. He is Vice Captain in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary (motivated by his 5 years spent in the Marine Corp), and participates in Search and Rescue Patrols on the Niagara River.
Ray's philosophy in life goes something like this: "Some friends are like leaves falling from a tree, and are all around, but true friends are like perfect diamonds - rare and meant to be treasured." He views the team at Koester Associates as True Friends.

Katherine Hurrle, Project Coordinator
Kate joined the staff at Koester Associates after working for several years in Human Resources at Franklin Templeton Investments. Kate's team-based and project experiences bring value to our office and our customers. Kate holds a BS in Psychology from Hartwick College. Kate enjoys spending time with her family, taking her daughter to dance class, volunteering in activities for her alma mater and scrapbooking.

Tommie Locke, Executive Assistant
With over 10 years of administrative experience and engineering background coupled with an Associates Degree from USC, Tommie is a great addition to the Koester team. She aids in project coordination and handles all of our technical and IT needs. Her infectious smile and positive attitude are quite contagious. She is married with two children (a 5 yr. old son and a 2 yr. old daughter). In her “free” time, she enjoys spending time with her family and teaching dance. Her faith keeps her strong. Mary Lou Pace, Financial Manager
Mary Lou has over 30 years experience in accounting and bookkeeping. Mary Lou manages all financial aspects of the company. Her eldest son is a Captain in the United States Air Force stationed in Charleston SC. Her youngest son is a Deputy with the Onondaga County Sheriffs Dept. Being “empty nesters”, Mary Lou and her husband Charlie enjoy traveling and boating.
